What is an Arrow?
An arrow is a graphic symbol used to point or indicate direction. It consists of a line segment with a triangle or angled shape at one end to show which way to go.
Everyday use: Arrows appear on road signs, directional displays, and subway maps to guide people to their destinations.
Documents: Arrows appear in flowcharts, diagrams, and process maps to show the flow of information or steps.
Math and logic: Arrows represent function mapping (→), logical implication (⇒), and bidirectional relationships (↔).
Programming: Arrows are used in arrow functions (=>), pointer operators (->), and similar code syntax.
How to Type Arrows
Windows
Method 1: Emoji Panel
- Press
Win+.(period) orWin+;(semicolon). - Navigate to the symbols tab in the emoji panel.
- Select the arrow category and select the arrow you need.
Method 2: Alt Codes
